A: nail clipping
Cutting guinea pigs nails is deifinitely nessacary so i'm glad you asked :-)
It is easier to do on a guinea pig with white nails rather than dark but it can be done with either. Some people prefer to have a cavy vet teach them how to do it but i can tell you all i can :-)
The blood in the nail is called the "kwick" and if this is cut it will bleed and hurt the guinea pig. With white nails you can see the kwick and avoid cutting it, doing so once a month maybe. With black or darker nails you will just need to cut off small parts of the tips every two weeks or so.
http://www.guinealynx.info/nails.html is a good site with more information on cutting nails.
Lots of people like using toenail clippers but i personally prefer clippers that are meant for cavies.
IF the nail starts to bleed you will have to have some flour or cornstarch handy to dab on the nail to stop the bleeding. You can also use a product called "kwick stop" which is very good and safe for cavies.
If you have any more questions please ask :-)
