Q: Carrier Consault
What kind of carrier should I use for a carrier for long distance? A shoebox or a come-along carrier?

No animal should be carried in a shoebox. A rodent should definetly be carried in a come along carrier. Are you going somewhere for several days? In that case, I would advise you to bring to the whole cage with you. In some cases, the cars are too small to fit a cage inside. Then you might try putting rodent in the come along and putting the empty cage in the trunk until you reach your destination. That is what I always do since my mom drives a Saturn.
If you are only trying to take the animal to the vet, then a come along would work well. Just be sure there is a place for food and water and something for the animal to hide under.
