Q: Is sugar good (or bad) for cats?
One of my cats, (Brooklyn) ws watching my daughter intently as she was eating a donut, I left the room for a minute and she comes running in and said Mom..guess what? Brooklyn likes dounuts! Well..if you saw Brooklyn...Brooklyn likes EVERYTHING but I told her not to give her anymore sugar. Sure enough evertime my daughter comes into the room with a cookie or anything sweet...she will start to meow, beg...wrap herself around my daughter...sometimes I give in..but not always. Is sugar bad for cats? sometimes we do scrub their teeth.
Thanks!

Hello there:),
Yes actually sugar for your cat is not recommended. It is not because of the fact of them developing diabetes. And can cause tooth decay and obseity. Brushing your cats teeth is good but I will suggest going to the vet or to the pet store and getting a cat toothpaste. Some suggestions for the tooth taste is St. Jon Petrodex. This is fairly cheap. Also by brushing your cats teeth can also help Brooklyn's teeth from decaying for when she gets older. Remember chocolate is toxic to kitties and sugar is strongly not recommened. If your cat likes treats try giving her some Pounce, Tempations.
