Q: Eye Care
My 4 yr old Sibe has dull spots inboth of her eyes. I never noticed them before and her sight appears to be fine. She still catches and jumps over thigs with ease. She was a rescue (3 yrs ago) and had been severely burned on her death bed and she has ovecome so much. Is this cause for concern?

Husky seem to be predisposed to several eye problems such as typical cataracts, this type of cataract usually does not affect the dogs vison much but there is also a more aggressive cataract which progresses quickly and could cause blindness by 2-3 years of age. Some other problems that affect the eyes are Corneal dystropy which is progressive vision loss in mid age and older aged dogs,it is often not detectable until the dog is 4-6 years of age,the last problem is Glaucoma which cause severe pain and vision loss in the dog usually before it is even noticed.I would recommend a trip to you vet so that he can examine your pets eyes and let you know if it is somthing serious that requires treatment. With Sibes being predisposed to many different eye disorders a vet check is definitly in order.I hop this was of some help to you and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask. here is a link with alot of info on this and other husky related topics that you may want to check out.
